1. Definition
Das große Blutbild ist die ausführliche Form des Blutbildes. Sie setzt sich aus den Untersuchungen des kleinen Blutbildes und des Differentialblutbildes zusammen.

Für das große Blutbild werden 4 ml EDTA-Blut benötigt. Bei Kindern sollten es mindestens 0,25 ml EDTA-Blut sein.

Hinweis: Referenzwerte sind häufig vom Messverfahren abhängig und können von den o.a. Werten abweichen. Ausschlaggebend sind die Referenzwerte, die vom Labor angegeben werden, das die Untersuchung durchführt.
5. Befunde
- Neutrophilie: Erhöhung der neutrophilen Granulozyten
- Neutropenie: Verminderung der neutrophilen Granulozyten
- Agranulozytose: (fast) vollständiges Fehlen der neutrophilen Granulozyten
- Linksverschiebung: Verschiebung bei den Granulozyten zugunsten jüngerer Vorstufen (z.B. stabkernige Granulozyten) im Blutbild
- Lymphozytose: Erhöhung der Lymphozyten
- Lymphopenie: Verminderung der Lymphozyten
- Monozytose: Erhöhung der Monozyten
- Eosinophilie: Erhöhung der eosinophilen Granulozyten
- Basophilie: Erhöhung der basophilen Granulozyten
