Corpus: Anterior ulnar recurrent artery
1. Definition
The anterior ulnar recurrent artery is a branch of the ulnar artery.
2. Course
The anterior ulnar recurrent artery is smaller than its counterpart, the posterior ulnar recurrent artery. It originates just distal to the elbow joint and ascends between the brachialis muscle and the pronator teres muscle. Near the medial epicondyle of the humerus, it anastomoses with the superior ulnar collateral artery and the inferior ulnar collateral artery.
3. Function
The anterior ulnar recurrent artery supplies the muscles surrounding it.
