Definition

The circumflex fibular artery is a vascular branch of the posterior tibial artery or the anterior tibial artery.

Course

The circumflex fibular artery runs laterally around the neck of fibula and pierces the soleus muscle. It feeds blood into the genicular anastomosis and anastomoses here with the inferior lateral genicular artery, the medial genicular artery and the recurrent anterior tibial artery.
