Corpus: Inferior lateral genicular artery
1. Definition
The inferior lateral artery genus is a vascular branch of the popliteal artery that supplies the knee.
2. Course
The inferior lateral artery runs laterally over the fibular head to the front of the knee joint. It crosses under the lateral caput of the gastrocnemius muscle, the collateral fibular ligament and the tendon of the biceps femoris muscle. Its end branches anastomose with the anterior tibial recurrent artery and the superior lateral artery and feed the collateral network of the knee joint.
