Corpus: Posterior tibiofibular ligament
1. Definition
The posterior tibiofibular ligament is a flat ligament located in the area of the lateral malleolus.
2. Anatomy
The posterior tibiofibular ligament extends obliquely distally and laterally between the adjacent edges of the tibia and fibula. Along with the anterior tibiofibular ligament, it forms part of the tibiofibular syndesmosis.
3. Function
The posterior tibiofibular ligament stabilizes the tibiofibular joint.
