Corpus: Palmar radioulnar ligament
Definition
The palmar radioulnar ligament is a ligament that runs within the joint capsule of the distal radioulnar joint (distal radioulnar articulation).
Anatomy
The palmar radioulnar ligament extends from the palmar aspect of the radius to the ulna and is part of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). The fibers of the palmar radioulnar ligament, together with the fibers of the dorsal radioulnar ligament, form a ring that is firmly attached to the head of the ulna and the ulnocarpal disc.
Function
The palmar radioulnar ligament tightens during supination and contributes to its stabilization.
