Corpus: Dorsal radioulnar ligament
1. Definition
The dorsal radioulnar ligament is a ligament that runs within the joint capsule of the distal radioulnar joint (Articulatio radioulnaris distalis).
2. Anatomy
The dorsal radioulnar ligament extends from the dorsal aspect of the radius to the ulna and is part of the so-called TFCC (triangular fibrocartilage complex). The fibers of the dorsal radioulnar ligament, together with the fibers of the palmar radioulnar ligament, form a ring that is firmly fused with the head of the ulna and the ulnocarpal articular disc.
3. Function
The dorsal radioulnar ligament tightens during pronation, contributing to its stabilization.
