1. Definition
The fibular veins are one or more accompanying veins of the fibular artery. They are part of the deep venous system of the lower extremity.
2. Anatomy
The fibular veins transport blood from the lateral parts of the lower leg to the posterior tibial vein, which subsequently drains into the popliteal vein. In some anatomical variations, the fibular veins may drain directly into the popliteal vein.
