Corpus: Tibial plateau
1. Definition
The tibial plateau refers to the relatively flat articular surface of the proximal tibia, on which the menisci of the knee joint rest.
2. Anatomy
The tibial plateau is divided into a medial and a lateral region, corresponding to the medial and lateral condyles of the tibia, respectively. Between these condyles lies the intercondylar eminence, which is flanked by the anterior and posterior intercondylar areas.
