Corpus: Superior laryngeal artery
1. Definition
The superior laryngeal artery is a short branch of the superior thyroid artery that supplies arterial blood to the upper part of the larynx, extending up to the glottis.
2. Course
The superior laryngeal artery, accompanied by the superior laryngeal nerve, pierces the thyrohyoid membrane. It supplies blood to the muscles and mucous membrane of the larynx and connects with the corresponding vessel on the opposite side.
