Corpus: Right gastroomental vein
1. Definition
The right gastroomental vein is a tributary of the superior mesenteric vein, draining either directly or indirectly via the gastropancreaticocolic trunk. It collects venous blood from the right lower portion of the greater curvature of the stomach.
2. Anatomy
The right gastroomental vein runs alongside the right gastroomental artery, embedded within the greater omentum. It forms a venous arch along the greater curvature with the left gastroomental vein and gives off small branches that spread into the anterior and posterior stomach walls of the pyloric part and the body of the stomach within its drainage area. It empties into the superior mesenteric vein or the gastropancreaticocolic trunk at the level of the pancreatic head.
