Corpus: Left gastroomental vein
1. Definition
The left gastroomental vein is a branch of the splenic vein that drains the upper portion of the greater curvature of the stomach.
2. Anatomy
The left gastroomental vein runs alongside the left gastroomental artery and forms a vascular arch along the greater curvature of the stomach with the right gastroomental vein. It sends branches into the anterior and posterior walls of the body and fundus of the stomach, ultimately draining into the splenic vein, which then flows into the portal vein.
