Corpus: Right gastric artery
1. Definition
The right gastric artery typically arises from the proper hepatic artery.
2. Course and branches
The right gastric artery originates from the common hepatic artery, the proper hepatic artery, or the gastroduodenal artery. It travels through the lesser omentum to the right side of the lesser curvature of the stomach, supplying nearby areas of the stomach. Occasionally, it gives rise to the supraduodenal artery, which supplies the upper part of the duodenum.
Along the lesser curvature, the right gastric artery forms an anastomosis with the left gastric artery within the lesser omentum.
