Corpus: Radial recurrent artery
1. Definition
The radial recurrent artery is a branch of the radial artery that forms an anastomosis with the deep brachial artery.
2. Course
The radial recurrent artery originates immediately distal to the elbow from the radial artery. It runs proximally between the branches of the radial nerve, initially lying on the supinator muscle, and then coursing between the brachioradialis and brachialis muscle.
3. Anastomoses
The radial recurrent artery anastomoses at the elbow with the radial collateral artery.
4. Function
The radial recurrent artery supplies the aforementioned muscles and the elbow joint with arterial blood.
