1. Definition
The occipital sinus is an intradural venous channel of the brain that connects the marginal sinus with the confluence of sinuses.
2. Anatomy
The occipital sinus begins as several small channels at the edge of the foramen magnum and runs between the cerebellar hemispheres, embedded in the falx cerebelli. It communicates with the internal vertebral venous plexus and ends at the confluence of sinuses.
