Corpus: Lateral nasal cartilage
1. Definition
The lateral nasal cartilage is a triangular, hyaline cartilage of the nose that immediately adjoins the lower edge (margo inferior) of the nasal bone.
2. Anatomy
The lateral nasal cartilage is a relatively flat, triangular cartilage disc. Its anterior edge merges – separated only by a thin fissure – into the septal cartilage. The upper edge is in connective tissue connection with the nasal bone and the frontal process of the maxilla, the lower edge with the lower lateral cartilage.
