Corpus: Common palmar digital arteries
1. Definition
The three common palmar digital arteries are thin branches from the superficial palmar arch that supply the fingers.
2. Course
The common palmar digital arteries run alongside the lumbricals II, III, and IV towards the distal direction. They receive branches from the corresponding palmar metacarpal arteries and then divide into two proper palmar digital arteries each.
3. Function
The common palmar digital arteries supply the 3rd, 4th, and 5th digits of the hand, as well as the ulnar side of the index finger.
