Corpus: Common interosseus artery
1. Definition
The common interosseous artery is a short, approximately 1 cm long branch of the ulnar artery.
2. Anatomy
The common interosseous artery originates just below the tuberosity of the radius. It moves dorsally to the upper edge of the interosseous membrane of the forearm and divides there into two branches:
As a variation, the recurrent interosseous artery may also directly arise from the common interosseous artery instead of the posterior interosseous artery.
