Corpus: Anterior interosseous veins
1. Definition
The anterior interosseous veins are accompanying veins of the anterior interosseous artery.
2. Anatomy
The anterior interosseous veins run - accompanied by the artery of the same name and the anterior interosseous nerve - on the volar side of the interosseous membrane of the forearm in the volar interosseous space. They are overlapped by the edges of the muscle digitorum profundus muscle and the flexor pollicis longus muscle.
3. Function
The anterior interosseous veins collect blood from the deep volar forearm muscles. They mostly drain into the ulnar vein.
