The major arterial circle of the iris is a ring-shaped arterial plexus located at the anterior edge of the ciliary body, formed by anastomoses of the anterior ciliary arteries and the long posterior ciliary arteries.
Anatomy
Numerous smaller vascular branches extend from the major arterial circle of the iris within the iris tissue and run toward the inner edge of the iris (pupil), forming the minor arterial circle of the iris. The major arterial circle supplies the iris, the ciliary body, and the anterior choroid.
