1. Definition
The superior lateral cutaneous nerve of arm is the sensory terminal branch of the axillary nerve.
2. Innervation
The superior lateral cutaneous nerve of arm (Nervus cutaneus brachii lateralis superior) innervates the skin of the lateral shoulder region, particularly the area over the lower two-thirds of the deltoid muscle and the lateral upper arm above the long head of the triceps. The relevant dermatomes are C3 and C4.
