The superficial temporal vein accompanies the superficial temporal artery. It unites with the maxillary vein or the drainage of the pterygoid venous plexus to form the retromandibular vein. Additionally, it has an inflow pathway to the superior sagittal sinus via the parietal emissary vein.

- Anterior auricular veins
- Articular branches from the temporomandibular joint
- Parotid branches from the parotid gland
