Corpus: Palmar intercarpal ligaments
1. Definition
The palmar intercarpal ligaments are a group of shorter ligaments that connect the carpal bones to each other on the palmar side of the wrist.
2. Anatomy
The palmar intercarpal ligaments are part of the palmar ligamentous network surrounding the entire carpus. These ligaments are more pronounced compared to their counterparts on the dorsal side of the wrist.
Fibrous strands from the forearm bones and metacarpals also integrate into the palmar intercarpal ligaments.
