1. Definition
The lateral frontobasal artery is a branch of the M2 segment of the middle cerebral artery (MCA).

2. Anatomy
The lateral frontobasal artery runs anteriorly on the lateral and inferior sides of the frontal lobe. Its branches bifurcate in the region of the orbital gyrus and the inferior frontal gyrus.
3. Function
The lateral frontobasal artery supplies the orbitofrontal areas of the cerebral cortex.
