Corpus: Inguinal lymph nodes
1. Definition
The term inguinal lymph nodes refers to the lymph nodes of the inguinal region (Regio inguinalis).
2. Anatomy
A distinction is made between the superficial and deep inguinal lymph nodes:
- superficial inguinal lymph nodes

The deep inguinal lymph nodes also include the so-called Rosenmüller lymph node in the vascular compartment.
The inguinal lymph nodes receive lymph inflows from the legs, the external genitalia, the gluteal region and the cutis and subcutis of the abdominal wall below the navel.

Palpation of the inguinal lymph nodes is a regular part of the physical examination.
