1. Definition
The inferior pancreaticoduodenal vein is a tributary of the superior mesenteric vein. It runs alongside the superior mesenteric artery and drains blood from the duodenum and pancreas.
2. Anatomy
The inferior pancreaticoduodenal vein is divided into an anterior and a posterior branch, often referred to in the literature as the anterior pancreaticoduodenal vein and the posterior pancreaticoduodenal vein.
