1. Definition
The inferior cervical cardiac nerve is one of the three sympathetic cardiac nerves. It arises from the inferior cervical ganglion or the first thoracic ganglion.
2. Course
The inferior cervical cardiac nerve descends downward in front of the trachea (windpipe) behind the subclavian artery. Along its course, it communicates with the middle cervical cardiac nerve and the recurrent laryngeal nerve.
