Corpus: Bachmann bundle
1. Definition
The Bachmann bundle is a part of the cardiac conduction system that serves as a connection between the right and left atria. It is a branch of the anterior internodal bundle.
2. Anatomy
Anatomically, the Bachmann bundle consists of a band of cardiomyocytes that runs from the right atrium, passing between the superior vena cava and the ascending aorta, to the inside of the left atrium.
3. Function
Functionally, the Bachmann bundle plays a crucial role in conducting electrical impulses from the sinus node (the heart's primary pacemaker) to the muscles of the left atrium.
