Corpus: Anterolateral medullary vein
1. Definition
The anterolateral medullary vein is a paired vein located in the medulla oblongata. It runs in a vertical direction, parallel to the medullary anteromedian vein, on both sides of the medulla oblongata.
2. Function
The anterolateral medullary vein drains blood from the medulla oblongata and directs it towards the anterolateral pontine vein and the inferior petrosal sinus.
