1. Definition
The deep femoral vein is a vein in the thigh that accompanies the deep femoral artery. It drains into the femoral vein.
2. Course
The deep femoral vein receives numerous tributary veins from the dorsal part of the thigh. It merges with the femoral vein in the femoral triangle (trigonum femorale), typically along with the medial femoral circumflex vein and the lateral femoral circumflex vein.
