The anterior rami of the spinal nerves (rami anteriores nervi spinalis) are the ventral branches of the spinal nerves.

The anterior ramus further divides into motor and sensory branches that innervate the skin and muscles of the ventrolateral trunk. It also gives off fibers through nerve plexuses that supply the skin and muscles of the extremities.
