Definition
The coccygeal nerve is the most caudal spinal nerve, originating from the spinal cord segments S5 and Co1.
Anatomy
The coccygeal nerve, along with fibres from the fourth and fifth sacral nerves, forms the coccygeal plexus. This plexus provides motor innervation to the coccygeus muscle and sensory innervation to the skin area between the coccyx and anus.
