Definition

The term lamina affixa refers to a thin layer of glial cells in the cerebrum.

Anatomy

The lamina affixa is a sagittally oriented strip of tissue that runs between the choroid line and the superior thalamostriate vein. It is part of the medial hemispheric wall of the cerebrum.

The lamina affixa is fused dorsally with the thalamus and also forms part of the base of the lateral central ventricular part. Its surface is lined with ependymal cells.
