Corpus: Radialis indicis artery
Synonym: radial artery of index finger
1. Definition
The radialis indicis artery is a small branch of the radial artery that supplies the index finger.
2. Course
The radialis indicis artery originates near the princeps pollicis artery from the radial artery. It runs between the dorsal interosseous muscle I and the transverse head of the adductor pollicis muscle along the radial side of the index finger, coursing distally to its apex. It anastomoses with the proper palmar digital artery, which comes from the ulnar side of the index finger. Sometimes, the princeps pollicis artery and the radial indicis artery arise from a common vessel stem.
