Corpus: Pubofemoral ligament

The pubofemoral ligament is a ligament located in the area of the hip joint.

The fibers of the pubofemoral ligament are situated caudal to the hip joint and form part of its joint capsule. The ligament attaches cranially to the upper branch of the pubic bone or to the obturator crest. Caudally, its fibers extend to the intertrochanteric line and intermingle with the fibers of the joint capsule and the iliofemoral ligament.

The pubofemoral ligament limits the abduction of the thigh.
