The posterior ethmoid foramen is an opening in the cranial cavity that lies between the frontal and ethmoid bones in the area of the ethmoid cells. The posterior ethmoidal nerve and the posterior ethmoidal artery run through it from the orbit (eye socket) back into the cranial cavity.
