Corpus: Pharyngobasilar fascia
1. Definition
The pharyngobasilar fascia is a connective tissue membrane of the epipharynx that attaches the muscular tube of the pharynx to the base of the skull.
2. Anatomy
The dorsal attachment point of the pharyngobasilar fascia is the pharyngeal raphe that inserts into the pharyngeal tubercle; ventrally it is attached to the medial lamina of the sphenoid process on both sides of the choanae. The caudal continuation of the epipharynx is formed by the constrictor pharyngis superior muscle.
