Corpus: Palpebral veins

The palpebral veins are small veins of the eyelids.

A distinction is made between:

• Superior palpebral veins: drain the upper eyelid
• Inferior palpebral veins: drain the lower eyelid

Information on these veins is sparse in the anatomical literature. The veins probably drain partly into the superior ophthalmic vein, partly into the angular vein and partly into the facial vein.
