1. Definition
The oblique vein of the left atrium is a small cardiac vein that drains blood from the posterior wall of the left atrium into the coronary sinus.
2. Course
The oblique vein runs diagonally along the posterior surface of the left atrium and merges with the coronary sinus, alongside the great cardiac vein. It is considered a remnant of the obliterated left superior vena cava.
