Corpus: Medial pterygoid nerve
1. Definition
The medial pterygoid nerve is a short motor branch of the mandibular nerve (V3).
2. Anatomy
The nerve supplies the medial pterygoid muscle and carries the fibers of the tensor tympani nerve. These fibers pass through the otic ganglion without synapsing and then supply the tensor tympani muscle.
