Corpus: Masseteric nerve
1. Definition
The masseteric nerve is a motor branch of the mandibular nerve.
2. Anatomy
The masseteric nerve runs laterally through the lateral pterygoid muscle, passing through the mandibular notch into the space between the temporomandibular joint and the tendon of the temporalis muscle. From the medial side, its branches extend into the masseter muscle, providing it with motor innervation.
