Corpus: Lesser palatine foramina

The Foramina palatina minora are 1-2 small, paired bony openings in the Os palatinum (palatine bone). They are the opening of the canalis palatinus minor.

The foramina palatina minora are located directly in front of the insertion of the tensor veli palatini muscle and lie posterior to the foramen palatinum majus. The nervi palatini minores and the arteriae palatinae minores reach the mucosa of the soft palate through them.
