Corpus: Jugular process

The jugular process is a bony process of the occipital bone that forms the posterior part of the jugular foramen.

The jugular process is located in the lateral part of the occipital bone and originates as a small, roughly quadrangular bone plate on the left and right in the lower half of the condyles. It serves as the insertion of the rectus capitis lateralis muscle.
