Corpus: Internal cerebral vein
1. Definition
The internal cerebral vein is a paired deep cerebral vein that drains into the great cerebral vein.
2. Anatomy
The internal cerebral vein forms from the joining of the choroidal vein and the superior thalamostriate vein at the interventricular foramen, located behind the crus of the fornix. It runs within the leptomeninges on the roof of the third ventricle. The right and left internal cerebral veins merge to form the great cerebral vein (vein of Galen).
