Corpus: Infraglenoid tubercle

The infraglenoid tubercle is a bony tubercle of the shoulder blade (scapula).

The infraglenoid tubercle lies inferiorly, i.e. below the supraglenoid tubercle. Both bony tuberosities are separated from each other by the glenoid cavity. The supraglenoid tuberosity therefore lies above the humeral head, while the infraglenoid tuberosity lies below the humeral head. Both tuberosities are embedded in the joint capsule and therefore cannot be palpated from the outside.

The infraglenoid tuberosity serves as the origin of the caput longum of the triceps brachii muscle.
