Corpus: Inferior laryngeal artery

The inferior laryngeal artery is a branch of the inferior thyroid artery that supplies the larynx and oesophagus with oxygenated blood.

The inferior laryngeal artery rises on the trachea - covered by the constrictor pharyngis inferior muscle - to the posterior part of the larynx. It is accompanied by the recurrent laryngeal nerve and gives off branches to the surrounding muscles. The inferior laryngeal artery anastomoses with the vessel of the same name on the opposite side and with the superior laryngeal ramus of the superior thyroid artery.
