The common carotid plexus is a network of sympathetic nerve fibres surrounding the common carotid artery.
2. Anatomy
The common carotid plexus is a continuation of the external carotid plexus, which is distributed along the external carotid artery. It helps deliver sympathetic nerve signals to the blood vessels in the head. The fibres in this plexus arise from the superior and middle cervical ganglia.
