Corpus: Anterior scrotal nerve
1. Definition
The nervi scrotales anteriores are terminal branches of the ilioinguinal nerve, originating from the lumbar plexus. In men, these nerves provide sensory innervation to the anterior part of the scrotum and the proximal region of the penis.
2. Background
In women, the equivalent nerve branches are known as nervi labiales anteriores, which supply the anterior part of the labia majora.
