Corpus: Accessory meningeal artery
1. Definition
The meningeal accessory artery is a small vascular branch originating from the first segment of the maxillary artery (pars mandibularis).
2. Course
The accessory meningeal artery — as a branch of the middle meningeal artery or the maxillary artery — enters the cranial cavity through the foramen ovale to supply the trigeminal ganglion and parts of the dura mater.
