Definition
The deep palmar arch (Arcus palmaris profundus) is a vascular arch deep in the palm, formed by the anastomosis of the deep palmar branch of the ulnar artery with the terminal part of the radial artery.
Anatomy
The deep palmar arch (Arcus palmaris profundus) rests on the proximal ends of the metacarpal bones (Ossa metacarpalia) and the palmar interossei muscles. It is covered palmarly by the adductor pollicis muscle, the lumbricals, and the flexor tendons of the hand. On the radial side, it is accompanied by the deep branch of the ulnar nerve.
